"Effective November 01, 2016 Coal Creek Utility District Customers, both commercial and residential, experienced a 3.5% water rate & a 2% sewer rate increase. This increased the districts revenue by almost $574,193 in 2017" - Auditors Report

Rates again increased by 2% in 2019 and will also increase by 2% in 2020 - Auditors Report
How often should our water rates increase? When does it level off? Coal Creek Utility District has repeatedly and consistently raised our utility rates, with no end in sight any time soon. I don't believe our newly elected Commissioner will
do anything to change the situation.
This is a relatively small utility district which services just 3,909 water customers and 3,590 sewer customers (after losing over 11,000 customers to Bellevue) . It has just 17 employees, a payroll of 1.5 million, and an annual budget of 6.3 million dollars. On top of that, this board just passed a Ten Million Dollar bonus spending package in addition to upcoming Utility Taxes! Yes, your rates will go up next year, again.
REPEATED ANNUAL RATE INCREASES
Homeowners shouldn't fear watering their lawn over the costs. These board members have been in office for two decades; this should not be a lifetime appointment, and it was time for a change. However, our new Commissioner has no experience in this field. You actually voted to have your rates endlessly climb higher and higher each year.
